Tips for bringing the outdoors in
By: Marissa Anteby
Step outside, and you'll feel a living, thriving, natural energy apparent with every breath of fresh air you take. As you fill your lungs on an inhalation, you can't help but experience a connection to the world around you. The vibrancy of nature has potent benefits for your health and well being. So, how can you get this uplifting vortex to surround you even when you're indoors? Bring the outdoors in!
Environmental energy makes its way in to your home through windows and doors. If you keep these passageways unrestricted, positive forces of nature will stream in.
- Skylights and over-sized Bay windows are perfect conduits for sunlight to flood your home. Your constant exposure to such big lofty 'windows to the sky,' is mentally and spiritually stimulating. Peering out to the heavens above, it seems as if you could tap in to a cosmic shared intellect. Such vertical flow of energy, encourages all aspects of your life to follow suit and move upwards.
- The repetition of opening windows and doors, gets energy moving and flushes stagnant thoughts and ideas right out. An open door is not only symbolic of 'doors opening' in your life, it can tangibly help bring new energy in to your home.
- Bare windows allow the greatest amount of energy to pass through. Whereas, covered with bulky, heavy curtains, drapery clad windows slow down the movement of energy entering and exiting.
Clear windows let the most light and energy in to your home, clearing your mind. So, take time to draw your shades, expose your windows, and expand your internal world by inviting a new day in.
