Tips for keeping your home healthy

Tips for keeping your home healthy

by: Marissa Anteby

So you've emptied, organized, scrubbed, and mopped, making sure there isn't a speck of dirt in your house. Yes, we know it; your home is clean. But have you ever stopped to think about how 'healthy' your home environment is? Well maybe now is a good time!

Here is a quick list to help you keep your home and all the people in it, feeling and looking good.

- Let the light in. Open the shades and get some sunlight in.

- Look for natural fabrics and materials when buying furniture, floor coverings, throw pillows, bedding, linens, etc.

- Have a variety of different plants to oxygenate the air. This keeps the air naturally circulating more efficiently.

- Open a few doors and windows to air out your home. Try to do this once a day.

- Plant some trees or shrubbery outside, around your home.

Following these simple tips will go a long way in promoting a relaxed atmosphere for your family to enjoy. It's like Yoga for your home! You'll find yourself breathing easier and remaining calmer (well, good luck with that when your family comes home, but you get the idea ; )
